65-year-old mother of 13 children gave birth to quadruplets… Unbelievable!

At 65 life is just beginning!

Kids are the flowers of life. Annegret Raunigk (she’s 65, by the way) has 17 such flowers. 4 of them were born recently and are quadruplets. The kids had to face numerous problems right after their birth, but they could overcome all of them thanks to their brave mother. Now they’re growing big and healthy.

Annegret Raunigk is a retired school teacher and is 65 years old. For a long time she had been known as “The Oldest Mother in Germany”. in May, 2015, she gave birth to quadruplets – 3 boys and a girl – with in vitro fertilization.

The babies – Neeta, Dries, Bence and Fjonn – weighed 655-960g. The first week, after their birth, the newborns spent in incubators for babies (neonatal intensive care unit).

Dries underwent an operation to drain excess fluid from the brain into the abdominal cavity. And Neeta underwent an operation to recover the walls of the digestive tract.

Raunigk is a mother of 13 children, all of them from five different fathers. The woman already has 7 grandchildren.

The mother confesses: “I don’t get enough sleep, but I know I can take care of my children”. Raunigk tries to ignore all the criticism about her and her decision.

Local doctors refused to give Annegret artificial insemination because of her age. Still Raunigk didn’t lose hope and went to Kyiv, where she did in vitro fertilization. They “transplanted” both an egg and a sperm. In Germany this procedure is considered illegal.

“I’m not selfish or egoist. I love children. I’ve consulted a lot with doctors, had numerous check-ups. I am healthy all right, and ready to raise my babies.”

What do you think about Raunigk? This is a real miracle, isn’t it?
